The AHN Commentary Page [ctd.]

AHN Clint's dream commentary:

I have a comment to make on something old, it was called the dream  season solution. What gets me is that even though some people complain about the solution to bring Bobby Ewing back, they seem to forget that 10 other shows have copied Dallas since. Newhart, St Elsewhere, Who's the Boss, Roseanne -- and so forth.

You may not have a note on the Who's the Boss dream so let me tell it to you. I can't remember the names too well, but I think Jonathan who was the son of Amanda got mad at Tony (Tony Danza) for some reason and moves out of the house into a tent. Jonathan then asks Tony's daughter how to get rid of a bully. After Tony's daughter (Alyssa Milano) tells Brian the story of David and Goliaith, Brian confronts Tony in the backyard with a slingshot and a rock and hits him with it. Tony falls and Brian hops up and down, until he realizes that he killed Tony. He gets very quiet and starts to cry, screaming "Tony, I'm sorry. Wake up, please. Don't be dead." -- A second later, Tony wakes him up in the Tent -- the death of Tony was all a dream. I can't remember if this was pre or post Dallas....

Back to the topic at hand....We know why Patrick Duffy was brought back and it really wasn't because of Patrick finding a job. Larry wanted his buddy back. If you have seen the Dallas Bloopers, you will understand what I mean. These guys were buddies, and sometimes to have a good show -- you must have fun. So, that is why Patrick came back. For all you Dallas Blooper owners out there, Theresa was happy too.

Was there a better way to bring Duffy back, yes there was and it had nothing to do with dreams, Katherine making Bobby a love slave or anything like that. My solution would of been this:

Blast from the Past:

Bobby had died in a tragic auto accident, the Ewing family had left after the intern turned off the machine. After the family left, someone still felt a pulse and discovered that the machine had failed. Bobby was still left for dead, because the Doctors had tried their best and knew that it was only a matter of time before he would really die -- so they decided not to inform the staff about the mistake. After still being alive after a hour, the staff decides to inform a doctor about it. The doctor discovers that most of Bobby's internal damage was not caused by the accident, but by a snake venom that the evil Katherine had saturated into her hood and bumper. The doctors treated Bobby with anti-venom and discovered that his injuries were not that bad.

A year had passed and during this time, this Doctor Lambert -(A female) falls in love with Bobby (Who is still in a coma) and hides him from his family. (The funeral was close casket, and the family never had the heart to look -- but the coffin was empty). After six months, Bobby comes back to life but has no idea who he is. He falls in love with Lambert, and for about five months all is happy -- when Bobby has a dream about the accident and realizes who he is.

After a fight, Bonnie Lambert tells Bobby the whole story. Bobby (who is living in New Mexico with Bonnie) is convinced that since a funeral was held -- his family would never believe he was still alive, even if he showed up in the flesh. In spite of that, Bobby leaves New Mexico, but tells Bonnie that he probably would be back -- he looks in a mirror -- and except for a scar on his forehead -- he looks like Bobby Ewing.

Bobby still isn't sure of actual details, and somehow can't remember to get to Southfork -- but finds Pam's house. A flashback clicks into Bobby's mind and decides to find a way in. Of course this was the day of the wedding, and somehow Bobby finds a door open. Bobby isn't sure where he is excatly, but he goes upstairs and goes into one of Pam's spare bedrooms. Where he spends the night.....

The next morning, Mark leaves the house after getting a phone call from one of his sources about Jr trying to get the goods on him. Bobby has another flashback and takes a shower in the guest room, but the shower doesn't work -- Bobby sneaks into the next room -- which is Pam's room and ducks into the bathroom. He takes a shower, and that is when Pam wakes up and goes into the bathroom and.....oh my god Bobby is in the shower. Bobby sees Pam, has another flashback and just says "Good
Morning" with a smile.

****
Return to Camelot:

Pam sees Bobby and passes out. Bobby's flashback ceases and he realizes what he had done. He picks Pam up and carries her to her room. Mark had forgotten his keys and in comes Mark and he is face to face with Bobby Ewing.

Mark: My God...
Bobby: ...Mark Graison?
Mark: You can't be here.
Bobby: Uh, Shouldn't I be saying that?
Mark: Who are you?
Bobby: I wish I really knew who I was, but I don't know.

Of course Mark throws Bobby out of the house and Bobby hails a cab to go
to an appartment, when he sees the Ewing Oil building explode and he
jumps out of the cab and rushes up to the office. Ironically as the
elevator opens Jr steps out and...

JR: Oh my God.
Bobby: (Tries to say Jr but it comes out as sir) Sir -- a floor of your building just exploded.
JR: Who are you?
Bobby: If I really knew, I wouldn't be here in Dallas trying to find out.

Jr is cautious, but the two go back up to the Ewing floor and find Sue Ellen thrown against the wall. Later at Dallas Memorial -- Jr and Bobby have a talk...

Jr: Mister.
Bobby: Look JR. (Has flashback) I realize this is strange to you, but it is stranger to me. You have every reason to be wondering who the hell I really am.
Jr: If I didn't know better -- I really say your my brother, Bobby -- But you can't be Bobby. He died.
Bobby: Yes, and if I told you what Dr. Lambert told me you wouldn't believe me. I don't believe it, but it has to be true.

-- I know its cheesy, but to me it has a flair to it.

Pam, by AHN Jacob Cote

Pam is gone.  From the show that is, but not from my mind.  She's not thekind of person one can not forget.  No, she may not be real, but she felt real.  And the affect this character had one me - and still has on me - is unbelievable.  It's not just her outer beauty, but it's also her inner beauty. Pam may have had flaws, but so does everyone.  Even though she had a few things about her that I didn't like, she was perfect in my mind.  Reflecting back, I can't even remember the flaws, since my mind is so crowded with all the good things about this living goddess.

First I'll discuss how Pam looked on the outside.  Beautiful, yes, but so much more than that.  Everything I ever wanted a woman to be she was.  Her hair, her face, her body, everything about Pam was to die for.  I can stare at her for hours, and never get bored.  She excites me in ways I've never been excited, and arouses passions in me I didn't even know existed.  And for any other woman, they don't exist.  Only Pam can do these things for me.  Oh, sure, I find other women attractive, but it's hard to even say "attractive" when you put them up to Pam.

We'll begin with the hair.  It was spectacular!  She had many different styles, but each one was fantastic and wonderful it its own way.  The hair alone excites me.   Oh, sure, she had one or two bad haircuts, but the rest of her body made up for it then.  But the other 99% of the time, her hair was a work of art.  Sometimes it was short, sometimes long, sometimes in-between, and the color often differed in shades, but all the styles had one thing in common: Pam.  They were on her, and they looked fabulous.  Sometimes I thought I could smell the sweet scent of her hair from my living room.  Oh, I know I really couldn't, but she was so real I thought I really did.  For someone to be so real that one can actually smell her hair is quite an amazing feat.  And only Pam can do it.  But of course her hair isn't the only part of her body that's good to look at.

Pam is a testament to my belief that the face is the sexiest part of the body.   Without a good face, nothing matters.  Pam's face had this unexplainable allure - it was innocent, sweet, sexy, and racy, all at the same time.  I could get lost in her eyes, eyes that conveyed a sense of love and nobility.  Even her nose and her mouth said things to me, something that has never occurred with anyone else - and probably never will.  And those ears, so delicate, so smooth.  And the skin they all rest on - irresistible.  Hey, you may think I'm getting carried away, but if you want me to get carried away, e- mail me personally and I'll rant on for page upon page.   What Pam does to me never stops - and hopefully, never will.  Now there's another part of her body I forgot to mention - actually, I didn't forget, I'm just not going to say. I'll just simply put she has the most exquisite and proportionate body I have ever seen.  Oh, if I could only stop at that. Well, I must.  Now on with a description of her character, her personality, which is as equally rewarding and sexy as her looks.

Many people may not think so, but your inside beauty is just as important as your outside beauty.  Outside appearance affects you in one way, inside appearance affects you in another.  Pam's personality is everything a man could ask for.  She would make a great wife.   She is caring, kind, nice, smart - a woman any man would want.   She is the only woman who manages to be cute and sexy and racy all at the same time.  Okay, okay, I'm sure there are some people who don't like Pam, but this is my article, so too bad!  Just joking.  I respect your opinion, but to me it just doesn't make sense. I wouldn't care if I was a poor and living on the street as long as I had Pam. She can make everyone feel good.  Look deep into her eyes and you can tell the kind of person she is.  She cares about everyone (even J.R.), but her main concern is her husband and her child.  That's what I like, a woman who's main concern is her family.  Now don't take me for sexist, I'm for women working. I like an active, energetic, assertive, smart woman.  And Pam was all this. She worked very hard at Barnes-Wentworth, but Cliff just didn't appreciate her.  She could run that company all by herself if she had to.  And when someone was out of line, she let him know.  But even though she enjoyed business and enjoyed working, Bobby and Christopher were her Number 1 Concerns.

Sure, she and Bobby got divorced, but that was all J.R. and Katherine's fault.  They always loved each other - every second more and more - even during than their divorce.   Bobby still loves Pam - and always will - because a woman like Pam is hard - downright possible - to forget.  Every day Bobby will yearn for her (even though he won't show it), wishing she were there. Some people move on.  Bobby may, yes, but Pam will always be with him.  And if I had her, she'd always be with me.  She's always with me now, and I don't even have her.

Pam wanted a child - so, so badly - and she got one.  Even though he was adopted, she loved him as though he was her own.  Pam got mighty unstable after she couldn't have a child, which is something I can totally understand. For someone to want a child and to be a mother so much is really magnificent. And she was a great mother to that child - the best there could be.  Victoria Principal never had a child in her life, yet the way she acted made it seem like she raised one of her own  The actress herself is a living goddess, just like her character.  I'd write about her too, but she really is just like Pam, so in fact, I'm writing about Victoria Principal.

The only thing I really didn't like about Pam was the last thing she ever did - leave.   It's just not something Pam would do.  Not to say I don't understand why she did it, but it's just not Pam.  The writers had to get rid of her but also leave a door open so she could come back, but it just wasn't Pam enough. Katherine should have kidnapped her.  Because she would never leave.  She would never leave the family she loved, the husband she cherished the son she cared for so much.  It's just not Pam.  I'm sure Victoria Principal would have liked it another way, but it wasn't her show.  Well, it may have not been her show to run, but 'Dallas' was her show.   She was what kept the show together. The most important character on the show.   Most may say the heart of 'Dallas' was Jock or J.R., but the real heart of 'Dallas' was Pam Ewing.  The most wondeful woman in the world…even if she doesn't exist.   But then again Victoria Principal does exist, and she's almost exactly like her.   Yeah, she's married, but I do have some small chance - even if it's one in a billion.

I respect Victoria's decision to leave the show (can get mad at her, she's just as wonderful as Pam), but was sad she did.  It's just not the same.  And it never will be.  Until, of course, Pam comes back.  And she will, she will. She will come back for one last movie.  And when she does, Bobby will accept her with open arms, and so will Christopher, and so will everyone else.  And so will us television viewers.

She'll be back.  She will.  But until then, I'll have to rely on memories. And of course, taped episodes of 'Dallas' that have Pam in them.  I'll just put it in the VCR and enjoy.  Enjoy the most wonderful woman ever to exist.  The only woman who manages to be kind, caring, nice, smart, sexy, cute, racy, and beautiful at the same time.  Thank you Victoria Principal for bringing such dedication to the role.   Thank you Pam.  You'll be with me…forever.  And I know it may sound funny, seeing that Pam doesn't really exist and I've never met her real-life counterpart, Victoria Principal, but I love her.

I love you Pam…and I always will.
